Status Report - Week 25 2026
Real life
Another (warm!) week in the books! Lyla had her final exam of the year and so did Nathalie's students, which means she has less sessions to give, at last! In 10-ish days, we'll all be in summer vacation \o/
For some reason, I decided to try and do a bit of mathematics. For context, I was 100% sure I'd work in maths research until my early 20s, when I failed the ENS entrance exam, and realized that I was also pretty good at computers and should not pass on the great engineering school I'd been accepted to :-)
It's been almost 25 years so I'm super rusty, and I have no idea how long this new-stupid-idea will hold, but I'm excited. We'll see where it goes.
On the reading front, I have finished (and loved!) Mood Machine: The Rise of Spotify and the Costs of the Perfect Playlist and read the excellent Mathematica, that was recommended in one episode of a good podcast I discovered this week. I also started to (re)read Maths MP-MP* - Tout-en-un (see previous paragraph for why ;-)), and resumed reading the first tome of Récoltes et semailles.
I barely ran - only 18.37 km - and took a pause at GeoGuessr, only playing the daily duels and 2 (unranked) games.
Open source
This week's been pretty quiet on the software engineering front, with only the following few contributions to the SourceHut ecosystem:
- I addressed the latest code review comments to my patch to migrate project hub webhooks from Python to Go, submitting the hopefully final iteration.
- I adapted sr.ht-integration-testing after a fix of mine was merged upstream.
- I fixed a minor bug in hut and reported a regression detected by sr.ht-integration-testing's daily test runner.
